About this Guide

This guide is for anyone who has thought natively about themselves and their own body. You want change, but don’t know how to go about it. I was the same way. I wanted to change, but was trapped in my negative mind cycle. This guide will help you break free, so you can take up exercise and finally get the body that you want.

My health journey starts later in life, at 54. I was sad, depressed, and I used food, or in my case, alcohol, to cope. I finally decided to do something about it after I dropped 15 cents on the ground in the mall, and I couldn’t pick it up. It was then that I realized I had to change. That meager bit of money signified my life, and I wanted it back. The 1st task was conquering my negative mindset.

The Negative Mind and You

Negative self-talk is like carrying around a weight that drags you down, limits your potential, and distorts your reality. It’s self-defeating because it creates a cycle of doubt, fear, and low confidence. When you constantly tell yourself things like “I’m not good enough” or “I’ll never succeed,” you begin to believe them, even when they’re far from the truth.

This type of thinking not only reinforces insecurities but also stops you from taking risks or trying new things. It’s like putting up barriers in your mind before you even step into the real world. Over time, it can lead to decreased motivation, increased anxiety, and even depression, making it harder to overcome challenges or recognize your strengths.

The good news? You can break free from the cycle by shifting your inner dialogue. Challenging negative thoughts and replacing them with affirmations or realistic perspectives can build resilience and confidence. Instead of thinking, “I’m terrible at this,” try, “I’m still learning, and I can improve with effort.”

Small mindset shifts can lead to big changes. What’s one area where you’d like to break free from negative self-talk?
